500 Beneficiaries of start up grant to initiate/support Small Scale Businesses
Al-Muhibbah Foundation opened a Skill Acquisition Center and Empowerment Program to encourage entrepreneurship among women and youths in Alkaleri. This is line with AMF's vision to provide a platform for women empowerment and self reliance.
The center has a Computer Training lab, Sewing, Knitting and Cosmetology section.
During this event, Physically Challenged Persons were not left out, 10 Wheelchairs were donated to assist them to be more independent.
The founder of Al-Muhibbah Foundation (Dr) Aisha Bala Mohammed
used the occasion to re-emphasized that the project was initiated to empower women and youth, as they were identified as vulnerable groups in the society adding that, " societal challenges like poverty and illiteracy can be mitigated through such empowerment schemes, hence the need for the beneficiaries to redouble effort in boosting their business with the little they got".The Founder also appeal to the state Government, and NGOs, wealthy individuals and Corporate organizations to focus more on Women and Youth empowerment programs."This appeal has become imperative considering the high rate of unemployment and poverty ravaging our region.""This can be achieved through consistent and diligent implementation of Government policies and programs, especially those policies that borders around poverty alleviation and empowerment".Earlier, she pause to commissioned the Foundation's Skill Acquisition Center in Alkaleri Town which will encourage entrepreneurship among women and youths in that area.
